I can feel it coming. Just like las night, as a storm blew into our area, there is something on the horizon for our student ministry. I wish I could put my finger on it, but I just can't. For over a year now, I could feel this moment coming and now it seems closer than ever.
What is it going to be? I don't think that's for me to know yet. What I DO know is this... I need to pray! Matter of fact, if you are a part of Sonlight, a part of the leadership team for The Element, or anyone who just loves students... pray!
Pray until you can't pray anymore! Ask God to sweep through our students and our community like no one has ever seen or experienced before! Pray that God will give us such creativity that students will want to come to what we're doing more than anything else that competes for their time! Pray that students will encounter the love and power of our God in a way that life will NEVER be the same! Pray that God will move through families to infect every home with the love of Jesus!
Students are NOT the church of tomorrow. They are the church today! We cannot afford to sit back and hope something happens! We cannot expect to "fix" students on our own! We need to sit at the throne of God and ask, and ask, and ask until He answers!
One more thing. How big are your dreams for students? What if you asked God to do something and He actually did? Would you wish that you would have aksed for more? Dream big! Ask big! Don't put limits on what our limitless God can do!
I can't wait to see what happens... can you?!
